The Rob Krar Trail & Ultra Camp

Trails, Community & Friendship – experience it all at our trail and ultra running retreats

My wife Christina and I hosted our first running camp during the summer of 2015 and our offerings continue to expand each year. We have been surprised and deeply affected by the connections we have made through inviting the trail and ultra running community to our home. In a small group that allows for generous individual attention, you’ll get to run alongside us in some of our favorite—and most beautiful—places to train. The goal of our camps is to provide an inspirational, educational and once-in-a-lifetime running experience unlike anything available in our sport.

Our retreats offer guided trail runs over a variety of terrains, distances, and altitudes. The runs are designed to accommodate a wide range of goals, distances and paces. Most runs are either one way or looped to maximize new terrain. Run distances will vary between 8-11 miles with the option to add additional mileage time permitting. The retreats are best experienced by runners who are healthy and in good fitness with some experience training for and running trail races, and/or are interested in learning more about them. Campers DO NOT need to be advanced competitive runners to attend the camp. In fact, our camps are designed for beginner to intermediate experience levels. Guests will be encouraged to run at paces they find comfortable and choose distances each day that best suit their training goals and comfort level. Several guides will accompany each run.

If you think you may not be "good enough" or experienced enough for the retreats, PLEASE send me a message using the CONTACT ROB button below. It is the most common question I receive and never once have I replied "no". Beginner and intermediate level trail and ultra runners are our ideal guest and have the most to gain.

Our goal is to bring together the ultra running community to learn not only from myself, but each other. Many of our friends—avid and experienced trail runners themselves—come out to guide and share their knowledge during the week. Attendees are encouraged to run at paces they find comfortable and choose distances each day that best suit their training, goals and comfort level.

Our overarching objective is to provide an informative and rewarding experience with a balance of running, education and time to connect with each other. We feel fortunate to have this time in our lives to share our home and knowledge with trail runners from around the globe. We welcome trail runners of all abilities. We've hosted guests from their early 20's to late 60's with a vast range of experience. We love bringing together a mix of experienced road runners, seasoned ultra ultra runners, those just discovering the magic of the trails, and everyone in between.

"An experience that not only strengthens you as a runner, but also shapes your confidence, self-awareness, and spiritual well-being as an individual. In a truly exceptional setting, with the wisdom and motivation of truly exceptional people, the powerful bonds and memories that were shared will carry forward beyond camp… A springboard for success, on and off the race course, supported by a close network of friends, inspired by happy trails, and happy thoughts."
